    1. Actually, Paganism is practiced in our modern society. The term "Paganism" is an umbrella term. I compare this umbrella term a lot to the umbrella term "Christianity." Why? Because it is a term that covers over multiple different sects. Paganism includes (but not limited to) Wicca, Eclectic, Neopagan, Druidism, Shamanism, etc. All of those are still CURRENTLY practiced. Thus, Paganism is modern.

Paganism IS a religion. It is protected by the Bill of Rights (in the United States), as freedom of religion. It's sects are often considered "organized religions." Paganism itself, even though it is an umbrella term, is still considered a religion, just as Christianity, another umbrella term. It has doctrines, it has followers, it acknowledges the presence of divine beings, it has a system of beliefs, it is spiritual. You can argue all you want that it is not a religion. The reality is that it is recognized by multiple governments, and military forces. In fact, some schools acknowledge Pagan holidays.

    3. Paganism is NOT a "modern" religion. It predates Christanity. I do understand what u r trying 2 say, but that part of this very cool & very informative meme, just needs 2 be changed there, cuz the fact remains that Paganism is a very, very old religion, not modern at all. 👍✌

    4. Its obvious whoever wrote this is not pagan!!! We aren't a religion because religions have dogma, rules, punishment for not following rules. You can't put us under an umbrella term. We're all different in our spiritual truths. I don't care what you say about governments because that's not true either. State government over rules federal government. When you say things that aren't accurate at least correct them. Not any schools recognize our holidays but will not punish or make a student bring an excuse. All our beliefs vary. Your interested in being right instead of accurate.

    5. Religion implies governing of spirit and that is not with pagans are about

    6. Most of us do not practice Paganism as it was in ancient times. Mainly cause those practices have, for the most part, been lost. Most of us are then neo-pagan with ancient aspects. I know it's being knit picky, but it is relevant. My pantheon is mostly Egyptian, but I know full well that the rituals that I do are nothing like those practiced by even the common man or woman of Egypt in dynastic times. Most of the rituals in the temples have been lost as well. All I can do is recreate them as I think they might have been. Which makes me a neo-pagan. Make sense?

    8. Yes, Paganism was practiced way before Christianity but it doesn't change the fact that both are still ancient but modern. Plenty of people still practice Paganism including many Native American tribes, and just like Christianity, Paganism is based on the spiritual aspect of religion. Differentiation plays a big part in a lot of this because not all practices are the same because we are not the same and neither are those we worship or devote ourselves to. I understand what you're all (the creators of this blog site) are trying to do but you should gather all of your information before you make yourselves look like bad.

  4. Paganism has both ancient and modern variants. The Ancient Greeks, Romans, Egyptians etc. are examples of old Pagan religions. The religious structure of those times would be what modern day Pagans (NeoPagans) commonly brand as "repressive, dogmatic" and perhaps even "tyrannical." In reality, they were authoritative not authoritarian. However, they did have standards and universal morality which is somewhat of a taboo in the sometimes radical left-wing circles of NeoPaganism, but I am one of the very few believe that they are healthier than modern day moral relativism. The outlines of these teachings are best found (in my experience) found in the works of classical Greek philosophers. I recommend reading the works of Plato, namely "Republic" for the Morality and "Timaeus" for the religious and esoteric aspects. All modern Paganism can trace its roots to Greco-Roman Paganism, which may not seem like it until one studies Greco-Roman Paganism from scholarly sources. I don't recommend studying such works from practicing Pagans as they have a tendency to add their own biases and interpretations and frame them

  5. I will repeat others because it's a huge eye sore: paganism is the most ancient religion.
I understand you mean to say "paganism is practiced in the modern world", what what you actually say is just incorrect.

  6. Not all pagans celebrate the same holidays or believe in the five elements. Pagans are protected as a religion but not under the umbrella term pagan or as an organized religion. Wiccan is recognized as an organized religion and there are at least two established churches of Wicca in the United States. However, as we all know, not all pagans are Wiccan.

  7. Pagans are older than any other religions out there. We may not be an "organized " religion but we have the same rights as any other religion. Our beliefs are the same but each individual pagan practices to their own ways. We believe in being the best we can be and to ask for guidance from which ever diety we choose to follow. We don't beg for forgiveness from anyone but ourselves, we don't ask for things to be handed to us and then when it's not received think we didn't pray enough. Who ever wrote this is either not a Pagan or just ignorant. I'm a new practicing pagan and none of this has been in anything I've read.

  8. I don't think you understand paganism or witchcraft Wicca however is a religion it has dogmas and doctrine most paganism is about understanding nature and no 2 pagans are the same or have identical crafts witchcraft is ancient science and alchemy no 2 witch's are even close to the same covens are never alike and most within a coven still have their own personal beliefs in their crafts this is why covens can be very powerful because a group of people with various beliefs come together for a common greater goal

  11. Who cares how old it is or if it was the first.

We most certainly have better to do with our time.
    My brothers and sisters.

Why bring the toxins of religion and "world view" to our own homes and hearts this is not why we practiced paganism

Find the love & bless it be
